Cobalt Chromium Molybdenum Round Rod
We are suppliers of Cobalt Chrome Molybdenum (CCM) in round bar stock, commonly known as chrome moly steel, which is a non-magnetic, cobalt-chromium-molybdenum (Co-Cr-Mo) alloy used for machining and forging stock in the orthopedic implant industry. CCM maintains excellent wear resistance and is biocompatible, making it an ideal material for surgical implants. This material is commonly specified to ASTM F1537 Alloy 1 for forging and machining applications.
CoCr is a cobalt-based alloy, with a higher density than stainless steels. It is resistant to corrosion, wear and heat. It combines good mechanical properties with excellent tribology. Its low carbon content and a uniform distribution of carbides in its microstructure give him good polishing properties.
Cobalt Chromium Molybdenum Round Rod is used in the medical sector for manufacturing orthopaedic knee, hip and spine prostheses. CoCr provides greater rigidity than that of titanium of stainless steel.
Common Applications of Cobalt Chrome Moly
Knee replacements
Hip replacement implants
Shoulder replacement implants
Spinal rods, cages and disc replacement
Fracture fixation
Our medical grade CCM round bar is domestically melted and produced by a leading global China manufacturer and is universally accepted by all major OEMs.
