Introduction & Features of Heavy Tungsten Alloy Plates

Heavy Tungsten Alloy Plates are mainly divided into two series: W-Ni-Fe and W-Ni-Cu, and even W-Ni-Fe-Cu. In contrast, the W-Ni-Fe alloy has better mechanical properties and plays a huge role in the defense industry and various fields of the national economy. It is a very important new military material in the national defense industry and has been gradually extended to various civilian industries.

The tungsten content in tungsten heavy alloys varies from 90% to 98%, which is the reason for their high density (16.5 to 19.00 g/cc). Nickel, iron, and/or copper are used as a metal binder matrix to hold together the brittle tungsten particles, making the tungsten alloy ductile and easy to process. Nickel-iron is the most commonly used additive in a ratio of 7Ni:3Fe or 8Ni:2Fe (by weight).

Application of Heavy Tungsten Alloy Plates

  • An important application of high gravity tungsten alloy is used in aircraft and helicopter lift control and rudder balance device, aircraft wing and rudder control device and aircraft damping device. Used in helicopter rotor blade static and dynamic balancing weight and damping device.
